Job summary

WSP in the UK & Ireland is seeking a Senior or Principal Consultant to lead planning and environmental inputs for minerals and waste projects across the UK. You will manage multi-disciplinary teams, guide strategy from feasibility to design, and engage with clients, regulators, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality outputs.

The role emphasizes business development, project leadership, and financial management within a nationwide team.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and report-writing abilities demonstrated in a multi-disciplinary context.
• Proven ability to collaborate across teams to deliver high-quality outputs.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building with clients and regulators.
• Solid understanding of UK planning processes and environmental assessment expectations.

Responsibilities

• Support colleagues across WSP on minerals and waste planning and environmental inputs.
• Contribute to bidding, project management, and delivery within budgets and timelines.
• Lead multi-disciplinary inputs from strategy through feasibility to detailed design and assessment.
• Interface with clients, regulators, engineers, and consultation leads as required.
• Represent WSP to key stakeholders and maintain high-quality project outputs.
