Job summary

Carrington West is assisting a local authority client in the East of England to recruit a Principal Planning Enforcement Officer. The role is offered on an initial 3-6 month contract with potential to extend, and involves managing a caseload of planning breaches from investigation to resolution.

You will conduct site visits weekly, provide team advice, and prepare enforcement notices while applying strong knowledge of planning legislation and policies.

Qualifications

• Must have worked as an Enforcement Officer in a local authority planning department.
• Strong knowledge of planning legislation and policies.
• Experience managing enforcement caseloads and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Manage backlog of enforcement cases and new cases, from investigation to resolution.
• Conduct site visits and negotiate resolutions with stakeholders.
• Prepare notices and provide team with planning advice.
