Job summary

Penguin Recruitment Ltd is seeking a Town Planner to join our York office. This hybrid/flexible role involves delivering planning advice and managing projects across diverse rural, residential, and strategic schemes in the UK.

You will work with private landowners, developers, and institutional clients within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team. The successful candidate will be MRTPI-registered (or working towards chartership), hold a degree in Town Planning, and demonstrate solid UK

Qualifications

• MRTPI or working towards chartership is required.
• Degree level in Town Planning or related discipline.
• Experience within the UK planning system (private or public sector).
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills.
• Proactive, commercially aware and able to manage multiple projects.

Responsibilities

Town Planner - York (Hybrid/Flexible Working Available)

I'm currently working with a highly respected, independent planning and rural consultancy that is looking to appoint a talented Town Planner to join its growing team based in York. This is an excellent opportunity for a planning professional who is keen to work on a diverse portfolio of rural, residential, and strategic development projects across the UK.

The Role

As a Town Planner, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality planning advice and managing projects from initial appraisal through to determination. You'll be working closely with a collaborative and multidisciplinary team, supporting clients that range from private landowners to developers and institutional clients.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparing and submitting planning applications and appeals


• Undertaking site appraisals and planning research


• Providing clear, commercially focused planning advice to clients

About You
