Carrington West are recruiting a Town Planner to join a well-established planning consultancy in York. The role is hybrid, with 1-2 days in the office, and permanent employment.

You will manage a range of commercial planning projects, provide planning advice, prepare and submit applications, and liaise with authorities and clients while developing your expertise within a supportive team. Town Planner

Location: York

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in the office

Job Type: Permanent

Carrington West are currently working with a well-established and highly regarded planning consultancy who are looking to appoint a Town Planner to join their growing team in York.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Town Planner with experience in the UK planning system to develop your career within a consultancy environment, working on a diverse range of interesting and commercially focused projects.

The successful candidate will join a collaborative team where you will have the opportunity to take ownership of projects, work closely with clients and develop your planning expertise alongside experienced professionals.

The Role

About You

We are looking for a Town Planner with a strong understanding of the UK planning system and relevant experience within a consultancy, local authority or similar environment.

Ideally, you will have:

• A degree or Master's qualification accredited by the RTPI.
• Relevant experience within a planning environment.
• Experience or an interest in commercial planning projects.
• A good understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational and project management abilities.
• The confidence to work independently while also contributing effectively to a wider team.
• A proactive approach to career development and professional growth.

MRTPI / Chartered status is not essential for this position, making this an excellent opportunity for candidates who are working towards chartership or looking to begin their APC.
