Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Planner/Senior Planner to support on Anglian Water alliance in Peterborough. The role involves leading planning efforts, developing detailed schedules, and coordinating with delivery teams to keep programs on track.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years in large civil projects, strong P6 experience, and a collaborative mindset. Hybrid working is available with comprehensive benefits and a pension plan.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience on large-scale civil engineering projects.
  • Experience in the water industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead collaborative planning meetings to ensure clarity of requirements and expectations.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans in accordance with AW requirements.
  • Liaise with delivery teams to ensure consistency in methodology and outputs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities and risks and explore mitigation strategies.
  • Develop 4D animations of project plans to aid digital rehearsal of construction.
  • Gather progress information and communicate effects on key dates, challenging the team to deliver on time.
  • Attend site regularly to gather program update information.
  • Communicate critical paths and key activities in team meetings.
  • Advise the team on priorities to prevent activities from becoming critical.
  • Attend meetings as required and provide project-specific reports as needed.
  • Maintain planning standards across AW and adhere to published processes.
  • Ensure integrity of project plans and actively participate in driving best practices.
  • Ensure alignment between plans and cost forecasts.

Job description

Our tier 1 Water sector contractor are looking for Planners and Senior Planners to support on their Anglian Water alliance on a permanent basis supporting on major AMP8 capital delivery projects based out of Peterborough.

Whilst leading and developing a team towards planning excellence, you'll ensure the project plan and programme are kept on track with any mitigating circumstances successfully overcome. By using your knowledge and expertise in planning, you'll build the trust and confidence of key stakeholder by delivering project updates backed up by value- added data which can contribute to delivery improvements.

Skills/experience/qualifications

  • Minimum five years of experience in large-scale projects within the Civil Engineering sector, preferably in the Water Industry.
  • Essential experience with P6 (Primavera).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage complex project plans effectively.
  • Commitment to health and safety principles.
