Planner – Water

Pinnacle Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Planner to join a major UK infrastructure contractor working across the Anglian Water AMP8 framework, based out of their Peterborough office.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a long‑term water infrastructure programme, supporting the planning and delivery of a range of clean water and wastewater projects across the Anglian Water region.
As a Planner, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining and monitoring project programmes from pre‑construction through to completion. You will work closely with Project Managers, Site Teams, Commercial teams and subcontractors to ensure projects are effectively planned and delivered to programme.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed project programmes using P6 Primavera or similar planning software.
- Produce detailed construction programmes from tender/pre‑construction through to project completion.
- Work closely with Project Managers and Site Teams to establish realistic programmes, methodologies and sequencing.
- Monitor progress against the approved programme and identify delays, risks and potential programme impacts.
- Provide regular programme updates, progress reports and look‑ahead programmes.
- Carry out programme analysis and support the identification of mitigation and recovery measures.
- Coordinate programme information from multiple project disciplines, subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend planning and progress meetings with internal teams, clients and supply chain partners.
- Support the preparation of project forecasts, resource requirements and key programme milestones.
- Maintain accurate records of progress, changes, delays and programme impacts.Assist with change management, compensation events and extension‑of‑time assessments where required.
- Ensure programmes are aligned with project deliverables, contractual requirements and wider AMP8 objectives.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Planner within construction, civil engineering or utilities.
- Ideally, experience within the water and wastewater sector or another major infrastructure environment.
- Strong working knowledge of P6 Primavera and/or other recognised planning software.
- Good understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing and project delivery.
- Experience working on projects involving multiple stakeholders and subcontractors.
- Ability to analyse programme data and communicate key issues clearly to project teams.
- Strong organisational and communication skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience working within a framework environment would be advantageous.
- Relevant qualifications in construction, civil engineering, project management or planning are desirable.
