Job summary

Gearing Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Planner for a leading Tier 1 contractor on a United Utilities framework in the UK. You will develop and manage programmes across design, construction, and commissioning for major water and wastewater projects.

Proficiency in Primavera P6 is essential, and you will work with project teams to align schedules, assess risks, and drive programme recovery where needed.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Planner, Project Planner, Planning Engineer, or Senior Planner within the construction, engineering, infrastructure, or water sectors.
• Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6.
• Strong understanding of construction sequencing and the full project lifecycle.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed project programmes across the full project lifecycle.
• Ensure schedules reflect project scope, resource requirements, and sequencing logic.
• Work closely with project teams to identify risks, opportunities, and programme impacts.
• Review and challenge subcontractor and supply chain programmes to ensure alignment with the integrated master schedule.
• Maintain baseline programmes in accordance with planning procedures and governance requirements.
• Produce programme updates, progress reports, and client-facing narratives.
• Carry out schedule quality checks to maintain programme accuracy and integrity.
• Support project teams with planning advice, mitigation strategies, and programme recovery where required.
