Job summary

Navartis Ltd is seeking a Senior Planner to join a Tier 1 engineering and construction team in the Leeds/Shipley area with travel between sites. The role focuses on developing and maintaining robust civil delivery programmes, managing interfaces, and contributing to tendering and contract delivery.

The successful candidate will have extensive Civil Engineering/Construction project planning experience, proficiency with P6 or MS Project, NEC familiarity, and a full driving licence.

Qualifications

• Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
• Major civils, construction, or depot build experience is essential.
• Proven experience of first principles planning and robust complex build schedules.
• Experience using planning software (P6, Microsoft Project) and NEC knowledge.
• Active experience with planning techniques for tendering and contract delivery.
• Understanding of commercial and contractual interfaces with planning.
• Must have a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across disciplines to develop and revise the civil delivery programme with understanding of delivery strategy, dependencies, risks and progress.
• Input into progress reporting and propose solutions.
• Prepare a resourced programme and review conformance with requirements.
• Contribute to the risk register and perform schedule risk analysis.
• Coordinate with other planners to identify critical interfaces and plan.
• Contribute to planning workshops and interface coordination.
• Manage project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• Carry out other duties as required and support training of others.
• Communicate planning information between parties.
• Assist with bid preparation and tender queries database.
• Define methods and outputs with estimator and supply chain involvement.
• Assist design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.

Summary

A Tier 1 leading international, multi-disciplined engineering and construction company providing better engineered solutions to infrastructure sectors including transportation, water, energy and natural resources is looking to hire a Senior Planner to join their team.

The role can be based in either Leeds or Shipley with travel between.

As a Senior Planner you will;

• -Collaborate across disciplines to develop and revise the civil delivery programme, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of intended delivery strategy, dependencies, risks and progress.
• -Input into progress reporting, contribute insights, identify issues and propose effective solutions.
• -Prepare a resourced programme, including reviewing the outcome for conformance with expectations and requirements.
• -Contribute to the risk register and undertake schedule risk analysis.
• -Work closely with other planners/sections to identify and plan critical interfaces.
• -Input into collaborative planning and interface workshops.
• -Manage personally controlled project documentation in an orderly fashion.
• -Carry out other relevant duties as required from time to time.
• -Contribute to coaching, supporting and formal training of others.
• -Provide a link to communicate planning community information between all parties
• -Draw up a bid preparation programme and contribute to the tender queries database.
• -Define methods and establish competitive outputs, in consultation with the estimator and other team members, including the supply chain in appropriate circumstances.
• -Assist with the design engineer to establish a design brief for temporary works.
• -Provide the estimator with a justified schedule of temporary works and other indirect cost items

To be suitable for this opportunity you must have:

• -Experience on Civil Engineering and/or Construction projects.
• -Major civils, construction, or depot build experience is essential.
• -Railway experience is preferred, but not essential."
• -Proven experience of first principles planning, with ability to create robust complex build schedules from design drawings.
• -Use of planning software (P6, Microsoft Project) and a sound knowledge of NEC
• -Active experience of working with a wide range of planning techniques in serving both tendering and contract delivery.
• -A clear understanding of the commercial and contractual interfaces with the planning function.
• -Must have a full driving licence

Competitive Salary of Around £65,000 - £70,000 plus
