Are you an experienced Physical Security professional with strong technical knowledge and proven experience delivering security projects?
Do you understand how systems such as access control, CCTV and intruder detection are designed, integrated and delivered within complex buildings or infrastructure?
High Speed Two Ltd is looking for a Senior Security Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership and assurance for physical and electronic security systems across the HS2 programme.
This is a project delivery and engineering role, not an installation position. You will work across major infrastructure packages, helping ensure security systems are properly designed, integrated and delivered while managing the technical risks, interfaces and changes that come with a complex programme.
You will work closely with project teams, contractors, designers, security specialists and operational stakeholders to ensure the systems ultimately provide the required security capability.
The HS2 security portfolio includes a wide range of physical and electronic security systems, including:
You will work across multiple projects and delivery organisations, reviewing contractor designs and technical submissions, resolving technical issues and ensuring security systems integrate effectively with wider infrastructure and communications networks.
A major part of the role is project controls. You will need to understand how technical risks are identified and managed, how interfaces are controlled and how changes are assessed and implemented throughout the project lifecycle.
You will also help ensure that contractors and delivery teams maintain the required technical standards and provide appropriate evidence that systems have been designed and delivered correctly.
We are looking for a technically capable Physical Security professional who has real project delivery experience.
You do not need to come from Critical National Infrastructure. Your experience could have been gained delivering physical security systems on major shopping centres, hospitals, stadia, commercial developments, transport facilities, large mixed use developments or other complex buildings and infrastructure.
What matters is that you understand the technology well enough to review and challenge the technical solution, understand how systems integrate and have experience managing the project controls required to deliver successfully.
You will be comfortable working with contractors, designers, suppliers and internal stakeholders and be confident taking ownership of technical issues through to resolution.
This is an opportunity to take your physical security experience into one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes and work at a scale that few security projects can match.
You will gain exposure to multiple security technologies, complex system interfaces and major infrastructure delivery, while working alongside experienced engineering, security and project professionals.
The role offers the opportunity to broaden your experience beyond a single building or project and develop your career within a long term client organisation.
You will also be working directly for High Speed Two Ltd, providing genuine client side experience across the design, delivery, integration and commissioning of the future high speed railway.
For an experienced physical security professional who combines strong technical knowledge with genuine project delivery experience, this is an opportunity to build a long term career within one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes
