A health technology company is seeking a Senior PHP Engineer to develop headless WordPress applications that impact millions of patients across the UK. The role involves designing REST API endpoints and ensuring the performance and security of the WordPress setup. Candidates should be proficient in PHP, have experience with the WordPress REST API, and possess solid database skills. This position is part-time with flexible remote working options and offers professional growth opportunities.
Evaro is looking to do for healthcare what online banking has done for finance, and we’re looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to help us do just that.
We’re hiring a Senior PHP Engineer – someone experienced, inventive, and confident working with headless WordPress in non-traditional ways. This is a high-impact, high-trust role working directly with our CTO and small product team to develop backend services that support our rapidly scaling digital health platform.
You’ll design, implement, and maintain custom REST API endpoints in a novel, decoupled WordPress setup that supports critical services for both NHS and private healthcare patients across the UK. It’s a rare opportunity to use WordPress far beyond pages and posts – and to solve meaningful problems at scale.
In this role you will:
You’ll report directly to the CTO and work as part of a small, focused team (engineers, PM, QA, and data). You’ll be central to building infrastructure that impacts over 13.5 million patients across the UK.
Evaro builds technology that makes healthcare more accessible. Our platform enables brands to integrate digital health services with minimal friction, supporting 13.5 million patients across NHS and private healthcare services in the UK.
We were founded in 2018 by Dr Thuria Wenbar and Dr Oskar Wenbar after realising that 25% of A&E consultations and 40% of GP appointments focus on minor health conditions that could be more efficiently managed digitally. What began as an e-Surgery and e-Pharmacy platform has grown into a full-stack digital health company, powering clinical, operational, and product solutions for the future of healthcare.
Our mission is to improve access to medications and health services through seamless, tech-driven experiences. We’re building the online banking for UK healthcare – and we’d love for you to help us make it a reality.
