ASOS STUDIOS Senior Photographer
Seniors at ASOS are experienced and skilled leadership figures with a talented eye for creativity and practical implementation. As a Senior, you will work closely with the Photography Manager and wider senior teams to train, mentor, and inspire the team to produce industry-leading ecommerce assets that appeal to our 20-something customer. You will drive departmental efficiency with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset.
What You'll Be Doing
- Report to the Photography Manager and oversee the daily operations of your Photographer team, focusing on product page enrichment for over 1000 products daily.
- Shoot products to high standards in model and non-model studios.
- Engage in various creative projects, including campaigns and social media, employing techniques such as mobile photography.
- Provide high-quality model direction, fostering energy, authenticity, and engagement, and coach the team to bring out expressive, fashion-forward movements aligned with ASOS aesthetics.
- Ensure adherence to creative implementation, budget, cost per product, and volumetric KPIs.
- Lead a team of Midweight and Junior Photographers, monitoring processes and performance.
- Create and communicate creative shoot guides from a photography perspective.
- Ensure Photographers are equipped to meet styling expectations according to segment requirements.
- Collaborate with Senior Photographers to evolve strategies based on current trends and fashion relevancy.
- Lead pre-shoot planning and preparation.
- Manage equipment orders and liaise with suppliers within budget constraints.
- Conduct workshops and training in various creative areas.
- Build relationships with stakeholders to develop photography technology and oversee equipment upgrades, representing ASOS Studios positively.
- Maintain studio equipment, ensuring optimal condition and timely replacements.
- Report directly on a team of at least four members.
- Monitor team KPIs and SLAs, seeking continuous improvement in quality and efficiency.
- Conduct regular 1-2-1 meetings to support personal development and skill growth.
- Plan for team succession and encourage growth through objectives and training.
- Participate in team and departmental meetings, fostering a collaborative environment.
- Act as an aspirational leader within the team and department.
- Guide the team to follow processes that meet creative and quality standards aligned with strategy.
- Promote authenticity, bravery, and creativity, adhering to company and departmental policies.
- Develop and communicate your leadership style in line with ASOS Behaviours.
- Collaborate with other team leaders to successfully deliver departmental strategies and build strong relationships across the studio.
- Identify market trends and ensure the brand remains a market leader through research and competitive analysis.
- Design and implement automated workflows to streamline practices.
- Oversee technology and hardware launches within the department.
- Lead projects supporting departmental strategies and undertake ad-hoc tasks as needed.
