Job Description
ASOS STUDIOS Senior Photographer
Seniors at ASOS are experienced and skilled leaders with a talented eye for all things creative and practical ability for implementation. Working closely with the Photography Manager and wider senior teams, you will train, mentor, and inspire the team to deliver top ecommerce assets for the ASOS product pages, appealing directly to our 20-something customer. You will drive department efficiency while thinking commercially and innovatively, leading with a creative, strategic, and operational mindset.
What You’ll Be Doing…
- Reporting directly to the Photography Manager, overseeing the day-to-day running of your Photographer team, including product page enrichment of 1000+ products daily.
- Shooting products to a high standard across model and non-model studios.
- Shooting a range of creative projects including campaigns and social media, using various techniques including mobile photography.
- Delivering high-quality model direction, ensuring energy, authenticity, and engagement. Coaching the team to bring out expressive, fashion-forward movements aligned with the ASOS aesthetic.
- Ensuring creative implementation, budget adherence, cost per product, and volumetric KPIs.
- Leading a team of Midweight and Junior Photographers, monitoring processes throughout the day.
- Creating, maintaining, and communicating creative shoot guides from a photography perspective.
- Ensuring Photographers are equipped to meet styling expectations in line with segment requirements.
- Working with Photography Seniors to develop and implement strategic segment evolution based on current trends and fashion relevancy.
- Initiating and leading pre-shoot planning and preparation.
- Overseeing equipment orders and liaising with suppliers, maintaining budget compliance.
- Conducting workshops and training in various creative specialties.
- Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to develop photography technologies and oversee equipment upgrades. Championing all aspects of ASOS Studios.
- Maintaining and tracking studio equipment, ensuring optimal condition and timely replacements.
- Directly managing a team of at least 4 photographers.
- Monitoring team KPIs and SLAs, identifying opportunities for quality and efficiency improvements.
- Conducting regular 1-2-1s, supporting personal objectives, skill development, and progression.
- Planning for team succession and encouraging growth and development.
- Leading team and departmental meetings, representing as an aspirational figure.
- Guiding the team to follow established processes and deliver quality standards aligned with strategy.
- Encouraging authenticity, bravery, and creativity, adhering to company and departmental strategies.
- Developing and implementing your leadership and communication style in line with ASOS Behaviours.
- Collaborating with other team leaders to deliver departmental strategy and building strong relationships across the studio team.
- Building relationships with stakeholders and championing ASOS Studios in every interaction.
- Demonstrating brand awareness by researching ideas and assessing competition to ensure market leadership.
- Designing and implementing automated workflows to streamline practices.
- Overseeing technology software and hardware launches.
- Delivering projects supporting the department strategy and other ad-hoc tasks as assigned.

Qualifications
Who we'd like to meet...

- Experience in model and still life product photography
- Understanding of how to execute treatments aligned with ASOS aesthetics
- Highly organized and proactive in decision making and problem solving

- Good understanding of lighting and Capture One
- Strong computer literacy skills
