Job summary

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust seeks a Chief Pharmacy Technician – Stores to lead the centralised stores and over-labelling unit across sites. You will provide daily technical leadership and ensure safe, efficient medicines distribution while championing quality improvement, automation, and stock management.

You will work with the Principal Technician and Pharmacist to shape new ways of working, audit performance, and develop the workforce in a compliant, patient‑focused service.

Responsibilities

• Deliver an effective, efficient, high-quality medicines distribution service meeting all professional and regulatory standards across Imperial College Healthcare sites.
• Ensure a flexible service responsive to customer needs.
• Support the Principal Technician and Principal Pharmacist, PatientServices, in delivering the service.
• Provide daily technical leadership and professional guidance to all stores staff.
• Champion learning and quality improvement in pharmacy.
• Help audit the service against set standards and review service provision.
• Ensure safe medicines storage and cost-effective stockholding and supply from stores.
• Help maintain the quality and accuracy of system information.
• Act as systems manager for CMM, automation inc. stock robot, automated drug cabinets and temperature monitoring systems.
