Job summary

Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Senior Mental Health Practitioner to support women and birthing people with moderate to severe mental health difficulties during pregnancy and postnatal care.

The role offers a mix of remote, community and office-based work across Berkshire, with a base in Wokingham. You will lead trauma-informed assessments, develop care plans and collaborate with a wide MDT to promote recovery and strong parent-infant relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering trauma-informed mental health interventions.
• Experience conducting specialist assessments and care planning.
• Ability to work autonomously within a multidisciplinary team.
• Experience coordinating care for birthing people and families.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, trauma-informed interventions to birthing people and families.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop collaborative care plans.
• Provide or facilitate therapies to support recovery and parent-infant relationships.
• Work within a multidisciplinary team including midwives, health visitors and social care.
• Contribute to risk management and safeguarding, liaising with maternity services.
