Our teams are driven by a shared commitment to excellence, collaboration and making a real impact to the lives of our clients and customers.**Role Summary**EQ Retirement Solutions are looking for a Senior Pensions Technical Analyst within their Pensions Technical Services department.The main purpose of the role is to lead the delivery of complex Defined Benefit (DB) pension scheme events and technical projects, ensuring legislative compliance, operational excellence and data integrity. The role provides technical expertise across annual scheme activities, actuarial valuations and member-facing projects while supporting clients, members and internal stakeholders with specialist pensions knowledge.**Core Duties/Responsibilities**The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:* Lead and deliver end-to-end annual Defined Benefit pension scheme events, including pension increases, GMP and excess pension reviews, and Annual Benefit Statements (ABS).* Manage actuarial valuation activities, including the investigation and resolution of data queries and mismatches.* Proactively plan, coordinate and deliver ad-hoc pension projects, including rectification exercises and scheme-specific initiatives.* Ensure all activities are completed in line with statutory, regulatory and client deadlines.* Prioritise competing workloads and manage multiple projects effectively within challenging timescales.* Act as a key technical point of contact for clients, members and internal stakeholders.* Provide guidance and support on complex DB pension legislation, scheme rules and benefit calculations.* Identify, investigate and resolve technical issues to minimise risk and improve member outcomes.* Support governance and risk management activities through effective controls, reporting and escalation processes.* Undertake root cause analysis for incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.* Review and improve operational processes to increase efficiency, accuracy and service quality.* Maintain high standards of data quality, compliance and customer service across all scheme activities.The duties and responsibilities outlined above are to be regarded as broad areas of responsibility and do not necessarily detail all tasks which the post holder may be required to perform.**Skills, Capabilities and Attributes**The ideal candidate will have the below skills, capabilities and attributes essential or preferred:* Extensive experience within UK Defined Benefit pensions administration.* Strong understanding of DB pension legislation, historic scheme rules and complex benefit calculations.* Experience managing annual pension scheme events, actuarial valuation processes and rectification projects.* Previous experience working within a regulated financial services environment.* Proven ability to manage complex projects and deliver against multiple deadlines.* Experience of governance, risk management and operational control frameworks.* Strong incident management and root cause analysis skills.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail.* Ability to interpret complex pension data and assess legislative impacts.* Strong stakeholder management skills with experience liaising with clients, members and senior colleagues.* Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills.* Ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making.* Strong organisational and planning skills with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.* Commitment to maintaining quality, accuracy and compliance under pressure.**What We Offer*** **Save For Your Future** – Equiniti Pension Plan; Equiniti matches your pension contributions up to 10%* **Health and Wellbeing** – Employee Assistance Programme: counselling, legal & wellbeing support for colleagues and their households.
