Job summary

HSBC in London is seeking a Senior Pensions Operations and Administration Manager to lead day-to-day pension administration, manage external suppliers, and strengthen operational resilience. You will shape robust policies and controls, ensuring high-quality, compliant operations for the HSBC Bank (UK) Pension Scheme and its members.

You will oversee service delivery, regulatory compliance, and governance reporting, partnering with the Trustee and Bank stakeholders to drive continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Experience operating within large DB/Hybrid and/or DC pension schemes.
• In-depth knowledge of pension administration standards and best practices.
• Manage third-party supplier relationships with a focus on operational risk.
• Build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders and hold third parties to account.
• Knowledge of UK pension legislation and the regulatory framework.
• Demonstrate proactive problem solving and analytical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day performance with scheme administrators and strengthen service delivery.
• Enhance commercial relationships with administrators, suppliers and advisers.
• Monitor regulatory changes and apply pensions knowledge to ensure compliance.
• Own operational risk activity with risk registers and issue logs.
• Lead remediation activities and track progress and outcomes.
• Collaborate with the Pension Scheme Executive Head of Finance on financial information.
• Prepare papers and recommendations for Trustee and Bank stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of member administration and communications.
