Job summary

Referment is partnering with a UK analytics and actuarial consultancy whose pensions actuarial team advises trustees and sponsors on defined benefit issues. The department covers core valuations, member options, strategic advice, and risk transfer, serving schemes from small to those with assets over a billion pounds.

You’ll divide your time between pensions actuarial work and pension risk transfer, with flexibility to suit strengths.

Qualifications

• Qualified pensions actuary with UK experience in consulting.
• Excellent UK pensions technical knowledge and ability to review core work.
• Strong communications, clear presentations, and client-facing skills.
• Ability to delegate tasks while maintaining project context and budgets.
• Demonstrated organisational skills and team-oriented mindset.
• Willingness to engage with diverse client needs and risk transfer topics.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate actuarial calculations and review the related advice with juniors.
• Take a central role in broking insurance transactions within risk transfer.
• Work on schemes of varying size and complexity, with variety across clients.
• Explore opportunities to cover longevity, GMP equalisation, and CDC topics.
• Attend industry networking events and develop client relationships.
