Job summary

North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust is recruiting a Senior Peer Support Worker Supervisor to oversee inpatient and community-based peer support services. This post uses lived experience to promote recovery, hope and person-centred care within acute and urgent mental health settings.

You will supervise Peer Support Workers, coach staff, support inductions, and work with clinical teams to strengthen peer support across the Trust.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a relevant field.
• Completion of an accredited Level 2 Peer Mentor training programme.
• Personal lived experience of mental health difficulties and recovery.
• WRAP/advance statement completion optional.
• Experience supervising or supporting colleagues.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and group supervision to Peer Support Workers.
• Coach and guide colleagues to improve confidence and skills.
• Support induction and role development of new Peer Support Workers.
• Use lived experience to encourage hope and recovery.
• Promote independence and personal recovery goals.
• Facilitate training sessions and group activities.
• Build partnerships with community organisations and healthcare professionals.
• Support transitions from inpatient care into community services.
