Job summary

Lumai is seeking an experienced PCB Layout Engineer to own board layouts from schematic handoff to fabrication release in Oxford. You will craft stackups, HDI structures, and controlled-impedance routing for large FPGAs and ASICs, while defending layouts to fabricators and ensuring IPC-compliant standards.

Join a team turning optical compute hardware into scalable production, collaborating with SI/PI, thermal, and mechanical colleagues to meet stringent constraints and delivery timelines.

Qualifications

• Extensive hands-on experience laying out complex high-speed PCBs that went into production.
• Proficiency with Cadence Allegro Constraint Manager; Altium experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Layout dense, high-layer-count PCBs from schematic to fabrication release with constraint-driven flows.
• Apply controlled-impedance routing, differential pairs, and HDI features (microvias, via-in-pad, back-drilling).
• Plan BGA breakout and component placement for large FPGAs/ASICs with SI, PI, thermal and mechanical balance.
• Translate hardware constraints into layout rules and iterate with simulation feedback.
• Run DFM/DFT reviews and serve as main technical contact with PCB fabricators and assembly houses.
• Produce manufacturing outputs (Gerber/ODB++, drill files, assembly drawings, fabrication notes) and manage revisions.
• Maintain footprint and symbol libraries, CAD standards, and templates compliant with IPC standards.
