Senior Payroll Specialist - UK Multi-site & Automation

Job summary

Navantia UK is seeking an experienced payroll professional to lead end-to-end monthly payroll delivery across the UK. You will own time and attendance data integration, drive automation of Excel-based processes, and ensure strict compliance with HMRC and NI rules.

The role covers salaried and hourly staff across multiple sites, with a strong emphasis on auditability, data integrity, and timely statutory reporting.

Qualifications

• CIPP qualification or equivalent payroll accreditation is essential.
• Minimum of 5 years’ end-to-end payroll experience in multi-site UK environments.
• Experience handling both white-collar and blue-collar payrolls with high-volume timesheets.
• Knowledge of expatriate payrolls and cross-border schemes is beneficial.
• Strong understanding of UK/ NI payroll legislation and auto-enrolment rules.
• Hands-on with cloud payroll solutions; Staffology experience is advantageous.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to automate workflows from Excel to systems.
• Experience interfacing Time & Attendance with payroll engines.

Responsibilities

• Process end-to-end monthly payrolls for UK sites, including NI and time data.
• Review, reconcile and import high-volume timesheets and shift premiums.
• Calcu1late statutory payments and deductions under UK/NI law.
• Support expatriate payrolls and cross-border schemes where applicable.
• Manage starters, leavers, off-cycle adjustments, and P45s/P60s.
• Prepare RTI submissions, year-end filings, and statutory returns.
