Job summary

Impact Recruitment is seeking an experienced Payroll Assistant to join a modern accountancy practice in Northamptonshire. You will manage weekly to monthly payrolls for multiple clients, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions to HMRC and pension providers.

The role offers a competitive salary (£26,000–£35,000), with a quarterly bonus potential and strong development opportunities within a growing firm. Office-based role with opportunities to contribute to a collaborative payroll team.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' payroll experience.
• Experience managing multiple client payrolls simultaneously.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, RTI, NIC and statutory payments.
• Confident using payroll software such as BrightPay, Sage or Xero Payroll.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Able to work to strict payroll deadlines.
• Professional communication with clients.
• Handles confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities

• Process payrolls weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly for multiple clients.
• Manage payrolls from start to finish with complete accuracy.
• Calculate starters, leavers, overtime, bonuses and deductions.
• Process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and ShPP.
• Submit FPS and EPS to HMRC; manage pension auto-enrolment duties.
