Job summary

BrightHR in Manchester is seeking a Senior Payroll Advisor to manage payroll for a portfolio of clients, ensuring accurate processing and timely delivery. You will troubleshoot complex payroll issues, coordinate with third-party suppliers, and log cases in Salesforce.

You will guide first-line advisers on complex topics, identify chargeable consultancy opportunities, and keep payroll systems up to date while maintaining a high level of customer care and compliance with UK legislation.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years proven experience of supporting software applications in a HR and/or Payroll environment.
• Awareness and understanding of UK payroll legislation (essential).
• Knowledge of HMRC reporting requirements for Payroll and data validation.
• Ability to balance all employee data (year to date) from the P11 and mirror in BrightHR Payroll Software.
• Effective communication across levels and strong customer care.

Responsibilities

• Triaging and troubleshooting complex payroll tickets and data issues.
• Replicating complex software issues in a UAT environment andhandoff to Second Line Support when needed.
• Identify workarounds for clients while cases are resolved and log Jira tickets as required.
• Respond to basic and complex client queries within the Payroll SLA.
• Attend calls with third-party payroll supplier and manage the open case queue.
• Act as escalation point for First Line Advisers on complex issues.
• Maintain Salesforce cases and ensure accurate data recording.
• Investigate issues to provide developers with clear bug context.
• Participate in team updates and provide feedback to Product for improvements.
