Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting a Payroll Manager for a global facilities management client in Manchester. The role is a 6–9 month contract with hybrid/remote options and 2 days per week in the Manchester office.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will lead payroll operations, support a new payroll system rollout, ensure compliance, and drive efficiency across payroll processes and reporting.

Qualifications

• Experience as Senior Payroll Manager/Head of Payroll.
• Experience with payroll system migrations/implementations.
• Proven ability to generate payroll reports for finance planning.
• Ability to work on a 6–9 month contract and travel to Manchester office 2 days a week.

Responsibilities

• Support rollout and implementation of a new Payroll System.
• Oversee and manage payroll processes ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and internal policies.
• Lead and support the payroll team, providing guidance and resolving queries.
• Collaborate with accounting and finance to ensure smooth integration of payroll data.
• Prepare and review payroll reports to support financial planning.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance payroll efficiency.
• Manage relationships with external payroll providers and stakeholders.
• Handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
