Job summary

System C is seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead accurate, compliant and timely payroll delivery across its multi-entity organisation, including international arrangements managed through external providers. The role also oversees pension administration, employment tax compliance, payroll systems, controls and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience leading UK payroll operations with compliance and control.
• Experience coordinating overseas payrolls with external providers.
• Strong knowledge of PAYE, NI and statutory payments.
• Experience across multi-entity organisations and outsourced providers.
• Knowledge of pension administration and auto-enrolment.
• Experience with ADP or equivalent payroll systems and improving controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end payroll across multiple entities, incl. overseas payrolls via providers.
• Manage payroll controls, reconciliations, approvals and reporting.
• Ensure HMRC compliance for PAYE, NI and statutory duties.
• Oversee year-end activities: P60s, P11Ds, share scheme reporting.
• Support pension administration and auto-enrolment compliance.
• Assist with off-payroll worker compliance (IR35) and related payments.
• Drive payroll system optimisation, automation and process improvement.
• Lead workstreams for acquisitions, integrations and TUPE transfers.
• Coach and develop a high-performing payroll team with strong customer service.
