JGA Recruitment Group | B Corp™ is seeking a Payroll & Benefits Manager in Hertfordshire to lead a high-volume payroll operation supporting around 2,000 employees across multiple payrolls. The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on involvement, guiding a payroll team through weekly and four-weekly cycles.

Qualifications

• Experience managing high-volume payrolls (ideally 1,000+ employees).
• Proven leadership experience within a payroll function.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC compliance.
• Advanced Excel skills and excellent stakeholder management abilities.
• A stable career history and a desire to make a long-term impact.

Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end payroll function across weekly and four-weekly payrolls.
• Manage and develop an experienced payroll team through an Assistant Payroll Manager.
• Partner closely with HR, Finance and senior stakeholders across the business.
• Oversee the UK & Ireland employee expenses platform and support payroll-related projects.
• Drive compliance, reporting accuracy and process improvements within a stable, collaborative environments.
