Job summary

WTW is hiring a Senior Associate - Payroll in Ipswich. You will join a busy payroll team delivering remuneration for around 7,000 UK colleagues and additional regional payrolls.

The role requires initiative and strong collaboration within a hybrid setup, with three days in the Ipswich office and occasional key processing dates. You will ensure accurate payroll data processing, compliance with HMRC rules, and support across payroll operations while maintaining confidentiality and service

Qualifications

• Familiarity with UK payroll statutory legislation or willingness to learn.
• Strong attention to detail in payroll processing and data handling.
• Proficiency with MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).
• Effective communication with colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks to deadlines.
• Confidential handling of sensitive payroll data.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting and validating payroll data from HR and other departments.
• Support timely, accurate data input and audits to ensure data integrity.
• Check monthly pay run output and documentation for accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with UK statutory legislation and HMRC requirements.
• Contribute to internal/external audit readiness and controls.
• Handle payroll inquiries and escalate complex issues as needed.
• Deliver a professional, customer-focused payroll service.
• Process manual payments via payroll banking portal when required.
• Support payroll colleagues and participate in team tasks.
• Adhere to deadlines and GDPR requirements in daily work.
