Job summary

Conferma is seeking a Payroll Specialist to coordinate the full UK payroll process and international payrolls. The role ensures accuracy, compliance and timely delivery while collaborating with HR, Finance and external providers. Part-time, 25–30 hours weekly, based in Manchester.

You will own monthly UK payroll, ensure PAYE/ NI/ RTI compliance and support year-end activities, with a focus on continuous process improvements.

Qualifications

• Previous experience managing or coordinating an in-house payroll.
• Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC and pension requirements.
• Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
• Organised with ability to meet deadlines in a busy environment.
• Experience working with HR, Finance and external payroll providers.
• Ability to investigate and resolve payroll queries confidently.
• Proactive communicator with a collaborative approach.

Responsibilities

• Own the full monthly UK payroll cycle from inputs to payments.
• Coordinate outsourced payrolls across four overseas countries with local compliance.
• Perform payroll reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Work with HR on starters, leavers, salary changes and benefits.
• Maintain payroll controls, documentation and approvals.
• Support year-end activities, audits and system changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll efficiency.
