Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Associate Technical Director to lead pavement engineering design and research projects across a range of highways, airfields, ports and other pavements. You will head teams, manage client expectations, and drive innovative solutions with a focus on safety, quality and sustainability.

The role requires proven leadership, a civil engineering degree, and extensive knowledge of pavement materials and standards.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or similar disciplines.
• Certified Pavement Engineer.
• Proven technical leadership within pavement engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of pavement design principles (Flexible, Rigid and Composite).
• Extensive knowledge of earthworks and pavement materials (Concrete, Asphalt and Hydraulically Bound Materials).
• Experience using UK and/or international standards for pavement design for highways, airports and other applications.
• Experience in geotechnical and pavement investigation techniques.
• Experience managing and delivering projects with client expectations.

Responsibilities

• Leading a variety of consultancy projects and work packages in pavement engineering.
• Ensuring project deliverables are prepared on time, within budget and to high quality standards.
• Enhancing client and industry relationships with both public and private stakeholders.
• Promoting pavement and asset management within AtkinsRéalis.
• Developing talent within the team through coaching and mentoring.
• Champions company processes and policies and ensures safety, welfare, quality and environmental requirements.
