Job summary

The City of Fort Worth is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Worker to support the East and North Districts and citywide mowing.

This role supports the Parks & Recreation Department in maintaining 300+ parks and public spaces, delivering safe, clean, and well-kept outdoor areas for residents and visitors. Responsibilities include landscaping, construction, and grounds maintenance, operating a range of tools and equipment, and collaborating with teams to keep parks and recreation facilities in top

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED.
• Three (3) years of general maintenance and /or construction experience.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License.
• Possess Class A CDL.
• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Texas Pesticide Applicator’s License.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of landscaping, construction and maintenance activities for divisional services and operations.
• Operate gas-powered equipment and hand tools (e.g., pressure washers, chain saws, mowers, trimmers) in support of maintenance work.
• Clean and maintain tools, vehicles, trailers and equipment; assist in repair, installation, or construction tasks.
• Carry out additional grounds keeping tasks such as signs installation, bed maintenance, playground upkeep and mowing.
• Remove litter and debris from ditches, culverts and right of ways; haul trash and materials as needed.
• Perform grounds maintenance duties including tree trimming, mowing, and equipment operation.

Education

High School Diploma/GED

Three (3) years of general maintenance and /or construction experience

Valid Class C Driver’s License

Class A CDL
