Job summary

The City of Fort Worth’s Park & Recreation Department is seeking a Management Analyst I to support budgeting and financial analysis within the Recreation Division, which oversees 21 community centers and major facilities. This role emphasizes accuracy, urgency and collaboration with multiple stakeholders.

You will help manage budgets, review forecasts, monitor expenditures, and assist with reporting to the Advisory Board and City Council, requiring strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Public Administration, Finance, Business Administration, or related
• No previous experience required.
• Knowledge of municipal/government budgeting
• Capital & Operating Budgeting
• Finance monitoring, reconciling, capitalization
• Grant monitoring and reconciliation
• Advanced Excel skills
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex financial issues
• Supervisory experience
• Exceptional customer service skills

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assist with the development of division’s budget as it pertains to salaries, staffing, and equipment; assist with revenue analysis and fee benchmarking and review
• Assist with the management and reconciliation of the division’s grants
• Create supporting details for the budget; identify possible budget overruns
• Review and prepare financial forecasts (for revenue and expenditure accounts)
• Monitor and approve expenditures for the division
• Provide a variety of analytical and research support on various projects
• Assist with compiling, reviewing and tracking document submittals to the Park & Recreation Advisory Board and City Council and review staff credit card purchases, and purchases in PeopleSoft Financials
• Assist with preparing and presenting reports,assist with planning, developing and implementing work plans to include goals and objectives andattend meetings regularly to gather information for the division and department.
