Job summary

Sue Ryder Duchess of Kent Hospice in Leeds is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to join our inpatient unit on a full-time basis (37.5 hours per week). The role involves leadership, mentoring and delivering compassionate, holistic care to patients with life-limiting illnesses.

Rotating shifts include early, late, long days, nights and weekends to ensure a 24/7 service. Applicants must be an NMC registered nurse with UK experience and be able to work across a 24/7 rota.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with post-registration UK clinical experience.
• Current UK registration is required.
• Mentor training completion or willingness to undertake is desirable.
• Experience of caring for patients with palliative, end-of-life or other complex conditions.
• Evidence of CPD and commitment to maintaining clinical knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Providing support, leadership, recognition and supervision to other members of the team
• Sharing knowledge and expertise with other staff through formal and informal teaching
• Acting as a mentor to student nurses
• Producing accurate, timely and complete records
