Job summary

Sue Ryder in Reading is seeking a Senior Registered Nurse to provide clinical leadership and supervision in a 36-hour week role (3 x 12-hour shifts). The position offers enhanced pay for unsociable hours and continuation of NHS pension, with a commitment to high-quality palliative care.

You will mentor staff, oversee care delivery, maintain records, and contribute to equality and inclusion while developing clinical governance and practice standards.

Qualifications

• NMC registered and demonstrated leadership within an inpatient care team.
• Experience coordinating care and adjustments for complex needs.
• Ability to lead inclusive and effective clinical communication.
• Knowledge of clinical governance and inclusive practice standards.
• Completion of mentor training or willingness to undertake mentor training.

Responsibilities

• Providing support, leadership, recognition and supervision to other team members.
• Sharing knowledge and expertise with staff through teaching.
• Acting as a mentor to student nurses.
• Producing accurate, timely and complete records.
