Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking a Senior Occupational Therapist to join the Children and Family health pathway in Devon. The role focuses on specialist assessment and home/school/community interventions, with coaching and training for schools within a 1.0 WTE post in a multidisciplinary team.

You will supervise Band 4 and Band 5 staff, work across localities, and contribute to ongoing service development and the Experts at Hand model while maintaining regulatory standards and

Qualifications

• Degree in Occupational Therapy.
• Diploma-level specialist training or equivalent experience.
• HCPC registration or eligible to register.

Responsibilities

• Hold responsibility for assessment, clinical reasoning and management of a specialist caseload.
• Deliver specialist OT assessment, advice and intervention across home, school and community.
• Work with families, schools and partners using strengths-based, evidence-based approaches.
• Support schools through consultation, coaching, modelling strategies and training.
• Deliver and evaluate targeted interventions using routine outcome measures.
• Advise on equipment, environmental adaptations and statutory OT responsibilities where appropriate.
• Work autonomously while managing clinical risk and complexity.
• Contribute to service development and supervise Band 4/5 staff and students.
• Support multidisciplinary working and outcomes for children and young people.
