Job summary

Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Band 7 Advanced Occupational Therapist to join the Regional Paediatric Hands and Upper Limb Service. You will provide highly specialist assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for children and young people with traumatic hand injuries and other upper limb conditions.

Qualifications

• Essential: Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy; HCPC registration; post-registration courses in Hands and Upper Limb (e.g., BAHT).
• Desirable: Leadership-related postgraduate course/qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Manage a specialist caseload of children and young people with hand and upper limb conditions.
• Deliver advanced occupational therapy assessment, treatment and rehabilitation programmes.
• Provide specialist hand therapy interventions including splinting and orthotic management.
• Collaborate with consultant surgeons, therapists, nurses and the wider multidisciplinary team.
• Support children, young people and families to achieve meaningful functional goals and maximise participation.
• Contribute to service development, audit, quality improvement and education activities.
