Job summary

Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS foundation Trust is seeking a Bank level 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Occupational Therapist to deliver advanced occupational therapy services in paediatrics. You will develop and implement individualised treatment programmes and lead clinical practice within the service.

The role involves collaboration with schools and local authority partners, supervision of therapy staff, and involvement in audits, policy development and safeguarding activities.

Responsibilities

• Undertake highly specialist occupational therapy assessments and interventions.
• Develop and implement individualised treatment programmes and packages of care.
• Manage complex cases and contribute to multidisciplinary assessment and diagnostic processes.
• Provide clinical leadership within the specialist area and support service development.
• Supervise and support therapy assistants and other members of the team.
• Deliver training, advice and second opinions within the specialist field of practice.
• Monitor and manage clinical risk, safeguarding concerns and quality standards.
• Lead or contribute to audits, research implementation and outcome evaluation.
• Produce high-quality reports, including documentation that may be used in legal contexts.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and data in accordance with Trust standards.
• Work collaboratively with schools, local authority services, social care teams and partner organisations.
• Promote evidence-based practice and contribute to policy, protocol and pathway development.
