Job summary

HEINEKEN UK in Manchester is seeking a Technician for our packaging line. You will perform proactive and reactive maintenance to keep canning and bottling lines running at peak performance.

The role requires engineering discipline, hands-on problem solving, and collaboration with maintenance teams on TPM and AM tasks. It offers a permanent contract, 4 on 4 off shifts, and a competitive package.

Qualifications

• Engineering related Apprenticeship completed.
• HND or NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering.
• Time served as a Multiskilled Engineer (Electrical Bias).
• Experience in highly automated manufacturing environments with safety-critical machinery.
• Experience executing planned maintenance techniques and CMMS usage.
• Continuous improvement mindset and autonomous working approach.

Responsibilities

• Perform corrective and reactive maintenance to address defects, losses and breakdowns.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, automation and mechanical faults to minimise downtime.
• Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement lasting countermeasures including safety tagging.
• Drive TPM initiatives to eliminate losses and promote lean practices.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance activities with colleagues to maximise reliability.
• Support and guide shop-floor operators, delegating tasks as needed.
• Collaborate on autonomous maintenance tasks and assist shift managers on asset issues.
• Record non-conformities in the CMMS to support continuous improvement.
• Maintain equipment cleanliness and reliability, aligning with site safety standards.
• Uphold HSE standards and maintain a safe working environment.
