Job summary

Walsall Council is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to lead the Younger Adults Team and oversee OT practice across Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Younger Adults services.

You will provide professional support, supervise staff, and manage complex cases while prioritising workload and coordinating cross-team referrals. The post requires post-qualification experience and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Significant post-qualification experience (including complex needs).
• Experience supervising staff, students or apprentices.
• Confidence in decision-making and leading practice.
• Commitment to developing others and improving outcomes.
• Collaborative and supportive leadership style.

Responsibilities

• Direct line management of OTs within the Younger Adults Team.
• Prioritisation and allocation of work across teams.
• Collaboration with Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Teams to allocate children’s work.
• Provide professional support to OTs in relation to both children’s and adults case work.
