Walsall Council is recruiting an Advanced Practitioner Occupational Therapist to lead the Younger Adults Team and oversee OT practice across Learning Disabilities, Mental Health and Younger Adults services.

You will provide professional support, supervise staff, and manage complex cases while prioritising workload and coordinating cross-team referrals. The post requires post-qualification experience and a commitment to high-quality, person-centred care.

G10: £48,738 - 51,928 per annum.

Are you an Occupational Therapist with at least 2 years post qualification experience working in a social care, learning disabilities, mental health, younger adults or children’s setting? If so, then this could be the post for you!

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our expanding OT workforce within Adult Social Care. We are specifically looking for an experienced OT to support our OT workforce across the Learning Disabilities, Metal Health and Younger Adults Teams.

About the job

The Younger Adults Team provides OT intervention for younger adults aged 18 to 25, as well as for older children who are transitioning from Children’s to Adult Services.

As Advanced Practitioner, you will have direct line management responsibility for the OTs within the Younger Adults Team, including prioritisation and allocation of work.

The Younger Adults Team also receives all referrals for children’s OT assessments, and as such you will work in collaboration with Advanced Practitioners from the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Teams to allocate children’s work across all 3 teams.

You will provide professional support to OTs within the Learning Disabilities and Mental Health Teams in relation to both children’s and adults case work.
