Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is seeking a Band 7 Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Community Equipment and Adaptations Service in Trafford. The role involves managing a complex caseload, delivering specialist assessments and equipment provisions to enable independence at home and in the community.

There is a focus on supervision of junior staff and students, with opportunities for professional development and leadership in service delivery.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Band 7 Senior Practitioner OT.
• Ability to travel across Trafford Borough for home visits.
• Supervision of junior staff and students is required.
• Lead complex cases and liaise with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsabilités

• Conduct comprehensive functional and risk assessments for service users with complex needs.
• Prescribe and evaluate specialist equipment and adaptations to maximise function.
• Act as an expert resource, providing guidance and supervision to junior OTs and support staff.
• Lead complex cases, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners.
• Manage a defined caseload, prioritise work to meet priorities and deadlines.
• Contribute to service development and audits to ensure evidence-based practice.
• Deliver training and education on equipment use and safe moving and handling.
