Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 7 Senior Practitioner Occupational Therapist to join the Community Equipment and Adaptations Service on a 0.6WTE, part-time basis. You will manage a complex caseload, providing highly specialist assessments and interventions to enable independence in the home and community.

The role includes supervision of junior staff, travel across Trafford Borough for home visits, and contributing to service development and audits.

Qualifications

• Qualified to practice as an Occupational Therapist within the NHS.
• Current HCPC registration.
• Master's level postgraduate qualification.
• Postgraduate training to underpin clinical practice in the required area.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive functional and risk assessments for service users with complex needs.
• Prescribe and evaluate specialist equipment and environmental adaptations to maximise function and independence.
• Act as an expert resource for the team, providing clinical guidance and supervision to junior OTs and support staff.
• Take a lead role in complex cases, collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams and external partners, including Trafford Council.
