Job summary

SSE plc is recruiting for an experienced OT cyber security lead to embed secure-by-design principles across transmission projects. You will provide guidance to project teams, define security requirements, and test controls across substations, networks and SCADA replacements.

The role requires 5+ years in OT cyber security, certifications such as GICSP or IEC 62443, and the ability to work across Scotland with site visits as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience in OT cyber security for industrial/critical infra environments.
• Strong ability to communicate with project teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of cyber security in high-availability or safety-critical environments.
• Experience with security assurance, risk management or governance.

Responsibilities

• Provide cyber security guidance to project teams and operators.
• Develop and improve security standards, guidance and documentation.
• Use risk-based decisions to balance security with business outcomes.
• Support compliance with NIS Regulations and CAF.
• Contribute to security testing, commissioning and continuous improvement.
