NHS Jobs is seeking a Senior Orthopaedic Practitioner to lead the casting service within the Fracture Clinic. The role involves clinical responsibility for assessment, planning and delivery across multiple settings, with a focus on complex cases and safe patient mobilisation.

The post holder will interpret X-rays for plaster application, supervise wound care and skin monitoring, and contribute to clinic operations and quality of care in line with HSC policies.

• Assess, plan and implement care for a varied group of patients across clinical settings.
• Take responsibility for delivery and management of the casting service; provide high level clinical involvement.
• Consult on complex cases and lead in new casting diabetic service within the clinic.
• Interpret X-rays to guide cast application and ensure safe mobilisation of patients.
• Provide wound care and monitor skin under plaster; escalate infection signs per policy.
• Lead in plaster room and fracture clinic equipment management; maintain optimal standards.
• Assist in running clinics, including chaperoning and supporting nursing staff.
