The Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a senior occupational therapist to lead the orthopaedics service. The postholder will provide specialist assessment and treatment for trauma, elective and complex patients, and supervise the OT team alongside the Therapy Lead.

You will contribute to teaching undergraduate therapists, develop hip fracture and elective pathways, and support community patients through the Hip Fracture Early Supported Discharge Team.

Formación

• Degree or diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• Evidence of recent and relevant CPD.
• HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
• Extensive clinical experience at a senior level.
• Experience supervising junior staff and leading a team.
• Knowledge of conditions managed in orthopaedics and complex caseloads.

Responsabilidades

• Provide specialist assessment, treatment and advice to orthopaedic patients using a holistic approach.
• Lead the OT team, with the Therapy Lead and Clinical Specialist, in planning, delivering and evaluating the day-to-day service.
• Take a lead role in teaching and supporting colleagues on matters within the specialty.
• Train undergraduate occupational therapists.
• Deputise for senior colleagues in management and clinical areas when required.
• Contribute to running and developing the service, including policies, procedures and guidelines based on evidence and research.
• Support community patients within the Hip Fracture Early Supported Discharge Team.
• Help develop hip fracture and high-volume elective pathways and orthopaedic weekend services.
