Job summary

Knowsley Metropolitan Borough Council is seeking an experienced Interventions Manager to lead our Family Time Service and Family Interventions within Children’s Social Care. You will have operational responsibility for Senior Support Workers and lead developments for Family Time provision and direct interventions to children and parents open to Children’s Services from Early Help to Child Protection.

The role requires passion and commitment to therapeutic practice, partnership working with CSC,

Qualifications

  • Experience leading Family Time and safeguarding in Children’s Social Care.
  • Ability to work in partnership with police, education and other agencies.
  • Strong leadership and people management capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, support and supervise the Family Time team and Family Support worker interventions.
  • Ensure high-quality, flexible family time provision including evenings and weekends.
  • Oversee risk assessments, rotas and service delivery to children and families.
  • Ensure all interventions meet high standards and have positive outcomes for children.
  • Provide specialist advice on safeguarding, permanency planning and attachment.
  • Support continuous improvement and development of the service.
  • Promote positive parenting and strong family relationships.

Strong partnership working skills are essential, alongside experience of working collaboratively with Children's Social Care, Police, Education and wider partner agencies to assess and respond to risk.
