Job description

The Finance department has an opportunity within the Operations team for a Senior Operations Assistant to oversee an area of the group’s operational processes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring that the day-to-day operations of the department run smoothly by ensuring that systems and processes are used effectively to maximise efficiency, with an ongoing focus on continuous development.

This role requires excellent attention to detail and the ability to plan and prioritise a busy workload in order to meet challenging deadlines.

Key Role Responsibilities:
  1. Responsibility for the end-to-end operational processes for multiple products
  2. Importing, processing, and validating high volumes of transactional data
  3. Proactively dealing with transactional data challenges that prevent transactions from being available for customer invoicing
  4. Developing and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external contacts
  5. Conducting daily and weekly volume reconciliations & trend analysis
  6. Producing high-quality, accurate outputs on a consistent & timely basis
  7. Working closely with other departments to ensure smooth business processes
  8. Maintaining processes and procedures
  9. Continuously working to increase department effectiveness and efficiency
  10. Identifying areas for improvement and benefits
  11. Measuring and managing performance against internal service levels
  12. Identifying underperformance and escalating issues to management for swift action
  13. Investigating and resolving queries promptly
Qualifications

Minimum of:

  • Ideally GCSEs in Mathematics and English, grade C or above
Experience/Skills Required:
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively
  • Strong reconciliation skills and experience handling large data sets
  • Excellent Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and V-Lookup (training provided if necessary)
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Professional communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently following set processes and procedures, as well as collaboratively
  • Strong judgment and decision-making skills
  • Positive attitude and enthusiasm
  • Strong commitment to customer service excellence
  • Responsibility and willingness to take on new challenges
