Job summary

Relay Technologies in London is seeking an senior Operational Research Scientist for our Last Mile Marketplace. You will design, build and evolve optimisation models and production decision systems that run Relay’s network, working with data scientists, analysts and engineers in a cross-functional squad.

You will translate operational requirements into scalable optimisation solutions, evaluate approaches, and continuously evolve your solution based on daily performance to improve decision making

Qualifications

• Operational research experience with heuristics or mathematical programming.
• Comfort with coding in a general or performance language (Python, Rust, Julia or C++).

Responsibilities

• Translate operational requirements into optimisation models for scheduling, assignment and pricing.
• Develop and evaluate solution approaches using mathematical programming and meta-heuristics.
• Design and build bespoke algorithms and solvers for production decision systems.
• Ensure solutions are scalable and production-ready alongside engineers.
