Job summary

Methods is seeking an experienced Senior OpenShift Platform Engineer to support and modernise enterprise container platforms hosting business-critical applications within a secure defence environment. The role is hybrid with 2 days/week onsite in Bristol or Milton Keynes and a salary range of £70k-£80k.

You will assess OpenShift environments, automate deployments, manage vulnerabilities and contribute to platform evolution, working closely with client and supplier teams in secure settings.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with OpenShift in enterprise environments.
• Strong Kubernetes knowledge and Linux administration (RHEL).
• Experience with container images, registries and Docker.
• Ability to work in secure, regulated environments.
• Experience with monitoring, logging and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Assess OpenShift environments, images, deployments, and dependencies.
• Diagnose and fix platform, container, and runtime issues.
• Improve deployment automation and build pipelines.
• Remediate security vulnerabilities and technical debt.
• Support monitoring, logging and operational capabilities.
• Improve platform resilience and recoverability.
• Transfer knowledge to client teams and help roadmaps.
