Job summary

Amber Resourcing Ltd is seeking a Lead Platform Architect (OpenShift) for a hybrid role in the Reading area. You will own architecture and evolution of large-scale OpenShift platforms, guiding strategy and technical direction for critical services.

This role is not hands-on engineering; you will shape platform standards and drive improvements with engineering teams, ensuring security and resilience across enterprise platforms. Applicants must be Sole UK Nationals and eligible for SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Commercial OpenShift platform architecture experience is essential.
• Enterprise Kubernetes platform architecture and life cycle management experience.
• Designing, evolving and governing production container platforms.
• Platform engineering, microservices and cloud-native technologies.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), CI/CD and automation experience.
• Hybrid cloud and/or on-premise platform environments.
• High availability, resilience, disaster recovery and platform security.

Responsibilities

• Define platform strategy and evolve enterprise OpenShift platforms.
• Influence technical direction and set architectural standards.
• Work with engineering teams to implement platform improvements.
• Ensure security, resilience and scalability of platforms as they evolve.
