Balfour Beatty is recruiting an Offshore Section Engineer to join the Avonmouth team supporting the Hinkley Point C marine campaign. You will lead a section of offshore works, coordinating design reviews, method statements and ITPs to ensure safe, efficient delivery in a challenging Bristol Channel environment.

You will work closely with engineering teams, subcontractors and stakeholders to maintain programme, quality and environmental standards and mentor junior engineers on site.

Competenze

• Experience in offshore construction, marine operations or major infrastructure projects.
• Ability to review permanent and temporary works designs and methods.
• Develop and review Sub-Contractor Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
• Understand Permit to Work systems and actively raise Permits to Work.
• Identify hazards and implement effective controls.
• Strong environmental awareness and site safety culture.
• Produce and oversee ITPs and handover documentation.
• Familiar with project contracts and specifications.
• Disseminate stage programme information to the team.

Mansioni

• Act as the technical interface between project team, client, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Review permanent and temporary works designs for safety and practicality.
• Prepare Method Statements, Risk Assessments, ITPs and related construction docs.
• Plan and coordinate marine/offshore activities to support programme delivery.
• Raise and respond to Technical Queries (TQs/RFIs) and resolve issues.
• Produce supplier instructions and monitor progress for timely execution.
• Maintain quality records and facilitate handover documentation.
• Uphold high safety, quality, and environmental standards across site activities.
• Mentor and develop less experienced engineers.
• Identify construction risks and implement practical delivery solutions.
