Job summary

Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust in Paignton is recruiting a part-time Occupational Therapist (27 hours per week) for the Baywide UCR and Intermediate Care team. The role involves holistic needs-led assessments and autonomous clinical decision making in community settings.

This Band 6 post requires HCPC registration and a Diploma/Degree in OT, with opportunities to supervise junior staff and develop professional skills within an integrated care environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience within NHS/community OT is preferred.
• Ability to travel across the locality.

Responsibilities

• Managing an intensive acute caseload.
• Triage and prioritise work according to urgency.
• Assessment and treatment of patients in community settings, mainly in their own homes.
• Planning, implementing and reviewing OT interventions with a patient-centred approach.
• Autonomously making decisions regarding packages of care and equipment.
• Carrying out home assessment visits to support discharge planning.
• Supervisory responsibilities for junior staff as required.
